College & Career
When/Where
The College & Career group meets every friday at the pastor's house. The Bible study starts at 7:30. Right now the class is looking at each book of the Old Testament to have a better understanding of how they relate to the Bible as a whole. Most college groups only focus on studying the New Testament and leave out the entire Old Testament. So right now we are focusing on a survey of the Old Testament in order to maintain a better understanding of the whole Bible. For instance could you answer these questions...
What is the book of Habakkuk about?
How is Leviticus relevant to today?
Who was Zephaniah and what did he do?
When, why and how did Judah fall?
What is the point of the genealogy's in Chronicles?
How does a modern Christian understand the Old Testament?
What are the covenants that God made with mankind in the Old Testament?
It is important for Christians to understand both the Old and New Testament because Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." So come and gain a better understanding of the whole Bible, and not just half of it :)
Purpose
The College & Career group is lead by Assistant Pastor Kenny Burge, Jr. His desire is to train this vital and vibrant age group to fulfill Jesus’ great commission “to make disciples of all the nations” (Matt. 28:18-20). Each meeting centers on spiritual food (the Word of God), food (we have some great snacks) and fellowship.
