Our Town Read about us in the Washington Post!Our church was involved in our annual National Night Out. The town gives us a table and allows us to distribute literature! Mrs. Burge recruited for our tutoring ministry . . . Josh and Dan scouted for youth to get involved in our football program . . . Policeman and fireman attend the event . . to help us stay aware of safety issues . . and also network with the local leaders - like our Pastor! The Town does a wonderful job coordinating the event! Our new chief of police and Rufus Lusk chat with Pastor, Kim and Josh. Kenny and Mrs. Burge meet a visitor from DC. Kenny has a good talk with Chief of Police Perez There is also an opportunity to meet many of our local delegates and politicians. Of course, our wonderful Mayor, Diana Fennell . . . . is always present and very supportive! Pastor Burge chats with a local politician. Ever and Bergi enjoy the moonbounce . . . . Irvin and Jeddison join in! Kenny enjoys the time with Bergi, one of his Sunday school kids! Jeddison joins in! Here come the youth! They are a great looking bunch of kids! Pastor Burge and Kim have a great talk with Councilwoman Barrow. Mike Friedberg pops in for a visit! Our new Chief of Police takes the mic. Throughout the evening various leaders speak with the residents . . . . on town-related topics. The Nixons, Nolascos and Sr. Munoz join us! Pastor and Mrs. Nolasco gave out many flyers . . . . . in English and Spanish to promote our Spanish ministry. A lot of the parents are interested in the free tutoring! Pastor and Dave enjoy the fellowship as they work! Here comes Kelvon! Pastor Nolasco and Pastor always have a great time together! Lisa is a wonderful lady - we always enjoy seeing her! Sra. Nolasco has a great chat with a resident . . . .she'd like to meet next week for a Bible study! Pastor Nolasco visits with Toni, one of our English students! Pastor mingles and talks with everyone he can! Pastor Nolasco meets another Spanish-speaking family and invites them to our various ministries . . . .our Spanish-speaking VBS, worship service and our English for Spanish-speaking Adults! The town had a wonderful turn-out! Josh, Dan, and Kenny were able to make a lot of contacts with the teens. Pastor Burge introduces Dave & Pastor Nolasco to our new Police Chief. Sra. Nolasco had a great time . . . so did our good friend, Sr. Munoz! We can't wait until 2007! Our church was involved in . . . . Colmar Manor's Youth Awareness Day again this year. Sgt. Stuehmeier, one of our local police, was in attendance. Here's one of our local politicians, Victor Ramirez. Our church manned a booth . . . . . the town gives us the freedom to share whatever we please! We also gave some . . . . puppet shows! Sharnitta is one of the puppeteers. Dejanee and Amy prepare for the show. Amy and Tracelle admire Charlotte, Amy's new baby. Kenny enjoys some basketball. . . and visiting with some friends. The kids made a poster for the event. Many people from the town attend . . . . Irvin bounces in the moon bounce . . . . . with some other kids from town! Amy and the girls get ready for the show. The boys gather around. Here they go! The show draws a good crowd. Everyone is very intent on watching the program! Wow! Look at the crowd! . . . . the girls do a great job . . . . . and all of these townfolk heard a Bible lesson! What a great opportunity! . . to minister to our town! The puppet ministry is called "Girl's Givn' Glory". . . and is a part of our Sunday School program. Pastor enjoys the event . . . . . as well as the teens . . . . . who always enjoy hanging out . . . . . together. The boys enjoy a cool drink! The girls gave one more show later in the day. Pastor Burge enjoys visiting with the teens. . . and also with Mayor Fennell. The guys meet up with Brion and Cornell . . . . . . and talk some basketball! Matt and Amy relax in the shade . . . . . the girls try to look cool in the shade! Josh and Kenny are just cool! There was a basketball tournament, too!
