Pastor Burge is a native Washingtonian.  Although he was  born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, he grew up in an apartment in Queenstown, MD.  His father is a retired policeman with the K-9 division of the Metropolitan police.  His Mom has always been a stay-at-home mom.  He moved to Riverdale in 1963, attended Riverdale Elementary, William Wirt Junior High, and graduated from Parkdale Senior High.  Pastor Burge truly has a love for his home-town area.  His desire is to reach those in his neighborhood and surrounding areas with the Gospel of Christ.

Pastor Burge accepted Christ at the age of 16.  He immediately got involved in Colmar Manor Bible Church.  After studying God's Word and growing in Him, he began to teach Sunday School.  He began serving in various capacities:  weight-lifting ministry, high-school youth group, and college-and-career ministry.  After working for C&P Phone company for many years, he realized that God was calling Him to full-time ministry.

Pastor Burge was ordained at Colmar Manor Bible Church on November 20th, 1988.  He then began to serve as Assistant to the  Pastor and then Associate Pastor.  He became the Senior Pastor of Colmar Manor Bible Church in 1991.  What an amazing venture!  A truly home-grown pastor, native to the area and also discipled in the church he currently pastors!

Pastor Burge graduated from the Washington Bible College on May 20, 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts, Summa Cum Laude.  He is a member of Delta Epsilon Chi and also received the highest score on the AABC Bible Exam Award. He graduated from Capital Bible Seminary on May 23, 1998 with his Master of Arts, Magna Cum Laude.  He received his Master of Divinity from Capital Bible Seminary on May 18, 2002, Summa Cum Laude.  During that time he was awarded the Hanshew Preaching Award.  Pastor Burge became Doctor Burge on May 13, 2006 when he was awarded his Doctorate of Ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary.  He completed his Dissertation entitled, "Developments and Evaluation of a Sermon Preparation and Delivery Class for Laymen."

Pastor Burge married Kimberly Hall on May 28, 1983.  She heads up the church's tutoring ministry, teaches Sunday school, and teaches English to Hispanics.  Kimberly, also a Washingtonian, is a stay-at-home mom.  She has home-schooled their three sons, Joshua, Daniel, and Kenny, Jr.    Joshua completed his Bachelors of Science in Accounting from UMUC (May 2006). He is continuing his education at UMUC with a Master of Science in Accounting and Financial Management and then plans on taking his CPA exam. He is our church pianist, Flag Football statistician, and Youth leader.  Daniel has completed his Associate of Arts at PGCC pursuing a History degree. He received the Outstanding Philosophy Student Award at PGCC.  His professor stated, "I admire both his clarity and refusal to be buffaloed by famous philosophers."  He is  attending UMUC majoring in History with plans to be a college History professor.  He is currently serving as Sunday School Administration, volunteer tutor, and works with our Power point during Morning Worship.  Kenny, Jr. is attending PGCC majoring in Web Technology with plans to transfer his Associate of Arts degree to the Washington Bible College to pursue his Bachelors in Pastoral Ministry.  He teaches the Middler Sunday School, Jr. Church, works in the sound booth, serves as Youth Leader and is also our webmaster.
